Peninsula Construction Ltd. was founded in 1992 by Lance Ponych, a Red Seal-certified, journeyman carpenter who specializes in renovations. Over the years, Peninsula has worked on a multitude of projects from Whistler to Chilliwack, bringing superior craftsmanship, attention to detail, and great value to each and every job the company takes on.

Whether it's a bathroom or kitchen renovation or a second storey, garage or cabana addition, Peninsula has the knowledge and expertise to manage your renovation requirements. Peninsula Construction's employees include two apprentice carpenters and two full-time labourers which allows the company to start your new project at any given time.

Company president, Lance Ponych, believes the key to Peninsula’s success and longevity lies in its competitive prices and its ability to attract and retain top tradespeople. “Having tradespeople that you have worked with for many years means you have established very good relationships and that they will go the extra mile for you,” he explains. “And because all of my labour is in-house, not subcontracted, it is much more cost-effective for my clients.”

Peninsula Construction Ltd’s work has been featured in BC Homes and GardenWise magazines. Peninsula was also recently nominated for a Canadian Home Builders Association National SAM Award.

Peninsula Construction makes South Surrey childcare centres more accessible to special needs children

White Rock, B.C. – Peninsula Construction Ltd. was thrilled to recently participate in the upgrading of the Peninsula Child Care Centre facilities in South Surrey as part of an “Extreme Makeover 2006” project.

“As a result of Peninsula’s tremendous dedication and hard work, the Peninsula Child Care Centres are now wheelchair accessible, therefore addressing the needs of disabled children,” says Paul Wheeler, executive director of the Semiahmoo House Society, which operates Peninsula Child Care Centres, a charitable, non-profit organization that runs license childcare programs in South Surrey. “For this, we are truly grateful.”

According to company president Lance Ponych, Peninsula lent its expertise to install kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops. “At Peninsula, we feel it is very important to give back to the communities in which we work and live,” says Ponych. “We were very happy to be able to provide our services to the Peninsula Child Care Centre and hope that our contribution helps to make a difference in the lives of many children.”

Peninsula Construction nominated for SAM Award

South Surrey, B.C. - Peninsula Construction Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has been named a finalist for the Canadian Homebuilders Association 2007 SAM Awards.

The recognition is in the Whole House Renovation category and acknowledges Peninsula’s renovation of a single-family home on 156 Street in Surrey. According to Peninsula Construction founder and president Lance Ponych, the reno was undertaken in two phases. The first phase involved building a new, attached garage with a master bedroom and ensuite on the second floor. The existing garage was then converted into a home theatre and dance studio, with nanny quarters, laundry room, home gym and study area built above.

For the second phase, the client moved into the completed first phase and then the existing house was renovated, with the exception of the living and dining rooms. This phase included new bedrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen, plus an extension of the den and a new entryway. “This was a very lengthy, challenging project but thanks to the experienced tradespeople that I brought on and our expert inhouse team at Peninsula, it went very well and was on time and on budget,” says Ponych.

While he is grateful for the SAM nomination, Ponych says he is most thrilled that his clients were pleased with the end result. “We are so happy with the transformation that occurred to our home,” wrote owners Dete and

Johanna Mordhorst in a recent letter to Peninsula. “We would never hesitate to use Peninsula Construction again. We were impressed with their competence and professionalism. We highly recommend them and thank them for a wonderful job.”
